The article states that chocolate milk is a pretty effective recovery drink. Protein is a building block for repairing your muscles and carbohydrates replace the energy expended during exercise. The said drink contains two nutrients : milk contains protein and sugar is added to create a sweet chocolate taste. New research presented at the annual conference of the American College of Sports Medicine suggests that chocolate milk is an excellent post-exercise recovery drink, helping a swimmer recover after a vigorous swim. In fact, researchers believe this drink offers swimmers an edge when compared to consuming a simple sports drink or calorie-free drink after a workout.
